WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?
The Bowen Island Marina provides moorage for boats year-round. Over-night moorage is limited due to high demands in the summer. Call for reservations - 604 947-9710.
The Pier has a variety of business year-round and seasonal with a spectacular view of Snug Cove, Howe Sound and the North Shore mountain range.
You and your family and friends can enjoy kayaking; shopping in the Gift shop; take-out food from the Taco/Ice Cream Shop from April to October, or listen to live music during the summer. You and your friends will have a very relaxing, interesting day.

 

WHERE CAN WE WALK OR GO HIKING?
Bowen Island has many trails close to Snug Cove. A trail map is available at the Marina.

No, just lots of deer.

 

WHERE'S THE MALL?
Bowen Island's commercial area is centered in the Snug Cove area where you depart the ferry. There are three areas that have interesting shops to browse through beginning with the Bowen Island Marina and The Pier that are located immediately beside the ferry, then on up the street to Cates Hill Village Square and Artisan Square. All commercial areasare within walking distance from the ferry.

HOW FAR IS BOWEN ISLAND FROM VANCOUVER BY BOAT?
Snug Cove harbour is located on the east side of Bowen Island, adjacent to Mannion Bay (49 degrees 23'N-123 degrees 19'W). Snug Cove is approximately eight nautical miles northwest of the city of Vancouver in beautiful Howe Sound.

 

HOW DO WE GET TO BOWEN ISLAND BY CAR?
Travel the Number 1 Highway to its most westerly exit, Horseshoe Bay. Take the B.C. Ferry to Bowen Island, a 12-minute ferry ride across Howe Sound.

WHERE CAN WE GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ISLAND?

On arrival, come to the Marina or go to the Information Centre. The marina is located directly beside the ferry on the right. The Information Centre is located on Cardena Road, the first road to your right.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO ON THE ISLAND?
Traditionally Bowen Island has been known for it's relaxed atmosphere. There is an abundance of walking and hiking trails through beautiful Crippen Park. Bowen Island Sea Kayaking located at our marina offers rentals, lessons and tours. Swimming beaches, tennis courts, a newly developed golf course for those looking for some outdoor activities are situated around the Island.The scuba diver will find the areas around Bowen Island interesting. Look for the mermaid.

On the Pier at our marina you can enjoy fresh daily take-out foods, including ice cream and tacos while you lisen to live music and watch the boats in Snug Cove and Howe Sound. Just up the main road you will find Italian and Sushi restraunts as well as specialty food items from either of our two bakeries. You could have a picnic in the park or you could stop in at one of our two Pubs.

Visit our interesting Historical and Archive building and catch a glimps of days gone by visiting bowenhistory.ca  Buy a souvenir Walking Tour booklet and trace the Historic Union Steamships Company days.

Plenty of shopping is available on the Island. A unique gift/souvenir shop is located right here On the Pier. Explore the clothing stores, artisan galleries, variety stores.

WHAT DO WE DO IF WE MISS THE LAST FERRY?
Cormorant Marine Water Taxi provides a regular evening service between Snug Cove, Bowen Island and Horseshoe Bay on the mainland. Leaves Snug Cove at ll:15 p.m. Sunday thru Thurs and 12:15 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Call 604 947-2243 for more information.
