The King of the Cove is back

Oscar arrived on our porch this morning still shinning from a recent bath and ready for breakfast. At first I didn’t notice him on the railing so he came to the table next to the kitchen window and starred at me long enough to get my attention. What a handsome fellow he is. Perfectly groomed with white as snow breast feathers and large grey tail feathers. He is larger in body size than the other gulls in the Cove with an attitude to match.

The pigeons on the Municipal Wharf got a taste of Oscar’s attitute this afternoon as he swooped down on them with his loud voice telling them to clear out. They all left in a hurry. The territory was all his.
